8 Good reasons to buy British products.

A recent report highlighted some of the dangers inherent when buying products from overseas. Workers are poorly paid and live in poor conditions. At least if you buy British products, you know that working conditions and pay are in accordance with current UK and EU legislation.

Buying British isn’t just about patriotism. Many people invest in British goods as a way of supporting the national economy – and here are 8 great reasons why you should consider buying British products.

It’s easier to get redress if your British goods don’t work.

If you’ve ever bought goods online from an overseas company and its broken, you may have had problems getting your expenditure refunded.

Supporting your local economy.

Some parts of the UK suffered worse than others during the recent Covid lockdown and are taking longer to recover. If you buy British, you’ll support your local economy.

Value for money.

From food to personal care products to electrical goods, if you buy British, you’re investing in good value for money.

Ingredients have to be safe.

Thanks to current health and safety laws, all good produced in the UK have to submit to stringent safety tests. This isn’t always the case for goods produced overseas.

Quality.

High quality goods are made all over the world, but British manufacturing is held in the highest regard. In British manufacturing there is an adherence to a range of quality standards including ISO 9001 and more.

More effective communication.

A number of things can affect communication when contacting an overseas supplier. You’ll need to consider time differences, language barriers and more. But by buying British you don’t have to worry about this.

Shorter lead times.

Goods produced in Britain will have shorter lead times than oversea produced goods.

And finally, the Environmental impact.

When you buy goods from an oversea supplier, they will need to be shipped to the UK generating a large carbon footprint. But by buying from a British supplier, you will drastically reduce your environmental impact.
